We began our journey in 2012, hand in hand with the Monastery of Corias—the place where viticulture in Cangas del Narcea first started with its foundation in 1032.

Today, in the best vintages, we bottle up to 30,000 bottles of both single-varietal wines and the classic Cangas blend, crafted in the region for generations.

Escolinas is made up of a cluster of micro-parcels totaling barely 0.6 hectares in Cangas del Narcea, Asturias, Spain. These small vineyards cannot be mechanized, with slopes reaching up to 30%, and at more than 500 meters above sea level, they are among the few true mountain vineyards in Spain.

Blanco de Cangas

It is a single-varietal wine, native to the Principality of Asturias. 70% remains in stainless steel tanks and 30% ferments and ages with its lees in Asturian oak barrels from Tineo for three months.

A Coalla project has resulted in the wines of Escolinas. Here we have a single-varietal Albarín Negro.

Albarín Blanco Castaño

Escolinas Blanco Castaño is a single-varietal wine made from Albarín Blanco grapes, native to the Principality of Asturias. The must ferments and ages on its lees for six months in 500-litre Asturian chestnut barrels: one-third in barrels from 2019, one-third in barrels from 2021 and one-third in new barrels from 2023.

Escolinas Verdejo Negro is a single-varietal wine from the Principality of Asturias, also known as Baboso in the Canary Islands and Alfrocheiro in Portugal. Verdejo Negro is the rarest red variety in Cangas.

Escolinas Albarín Negro is a single-varietal wine from the Principality of Asturias. The grapes come from the vineyard of Domingo Araniegu, one of the most renowned winegrowers in Cangas.

An incomparable wine. The viticulture required to achieve such an expression of the terroir is of extraordinary merit, and the craftsmanship with which it is worked in the winery makes each bottle a unique piece.
